I posted yesterday about !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! while off roading this weekend. The transmission oil temp. warning light went off, we pulled over to investigate, and then it completely died. We tried to get it restated for a while, but it seemed like the fuel injection and ignition systems weren't getting power. I was worried that it would be something major, possibly a cooked transmission, and that maybe the computer had simply cut power to the ignition/fuel systems to prevent further damage.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Well, I just heard from the shop that they traced it down to simply a corroded wire. They said that they doubt that the trans ever even overheated, the computer simply stared throwing random codes as it failed to get adequate voltage, and that the ignition and fuel systems were just not getting adequate power to operate. They replaced the wire (for a grand total of $2) and everything is working perfectly now!

Hooray for Land Cruisers! Sure, it would have been best if it never broke down in the first place, but, as far as brakedowns go, this really couldn't have turned out much better! Look's like I'll have it back on the trials in no time!

What was the wire? I occasionally look around to check for bad wires/lines. It would be good to know what I'm looking for. I really need to buy a ohm meter and add extra cable to the kit.

$2!! Man, I didn't think anyplace worked that cheap. Or did you offer some free legal advice. I'm now thinking about buying a Cruiser and moving to Tucson. :)

I don't know yet, I haven't seen the car yet. When I get it back tonight, I will take a look and let you know.

FYI - I checked out the repair on my rig. There are at least 4 separate wires that directly connect to the positive side of my battery, and the whole connection there was corroded, and that is where the fault was.
